These are not your typical shoes... they are like a combination of toe socks and water shoes. they help strengthen your feet and increase both traction and stability while hiking on rough terrain. I was a little unsure about them myself at first, but after a couple weeks, I think they are great. check out my blog entry at:

As i waited for the bus after my hike, I turned around and saw the mountains slowly fade into a heavy mist. I toned the color down a bit in photoshop and dodged a little bit on the houses to show the massive size of the mountains. It was really this orange color outside... it was insaine nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
While waiting for the bus after my hike, i sat at the bus stop. Across from me was the mountain with the most insaine clouds. Super dark and light swirling about. The trees and the mountainside were illuminated in such a way, i just had to take a few images off. nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
I checked out Manoa Falls the other day and had a great time. The hike was only a mile and a half roundtrip, but there was lots of good stuff.. this is a vertorama made from 3 images. nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
A long exposure of the waves flying through the rocks. I got wet on this one. My foot was soaked, but so worth it.

No editing what so ever. only thing i did was adjust the exposure white shooting it. Just converted from raw to jpeg format. I love seeing that moon before the sunset finishes.

The sunset wasnt super vibrant at this time like I would have wanted, but still came out great with that slow shutter speed.

This is probably the lowest flying plane I have seen so far while being here. This is taken with the equivalent of a film 420mm lens from about a quarter to half mile away...

This seemed the only way inside the mountain bunker. After 15 feet, it goes completely dark... even when you get in there. i used my flash to light the walkway a little, but decided to turn back incase i found a dead body... nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
It was those last few steps that are killer on Koko Head. You think youre at the top, then you see that there is a small dirt path without any steps. that just pisses ya off... it felt great to hike it... afterwards. nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
All enterences were closed to inside the bunker. This is the one all the way at the top. The ladder openeing was welded closed so no one would mess around inside it. nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
John ran to the very edge and was messing around. we had a great time, and the view was astonishing. nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
i like this shot not because of its artisic feel, but because it just shows how dense and huge the forest was. liz was hiking down the mountain side and i got behinder to take a couple off. this was the best. nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
Liz and I were coming back from Makiki and had to wait for the bus. Right behind us, there was a wall of these flowers in all sorts of colors. My camera whacked out a little bit because it was so bright, but after a little processing, i brought the visual pleasing effect back. nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
Went on another hike in Makiki. There is this massive tree right before you go down the road to the enterence of the Hawaii Nature Center. The tree looks to bee several hundred years old (it probally isnt, but it sure looks that way). Anyways, after my hike, i saw this little guy in the grass underneath the towering, elder tree. There was something about it that just made me fall in love with it. It is about two finger widths wide and about a foot or so long. each pod is the size of a mans thumb print. It is massive.
Strobist: Really easy set up here, just a single SB-800 through a soft box (with diffuser) set at 1/10 power. flash upper, back right from camera. nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo
On my way back from yet another hike to Makiki, i saw this. It was a little white flower, right in front of an old, rusted down, decaying metal garbage bin. The colors and texture just offset so well, that i layed on my back, as cars passed me, to take this photo. love it. nope327 / Kyle on Flickr: Posted a Photo

I am not really sure what this is used for. I liked how the sun was hitting the pipes and couldnt pass it up. I love the textures of the pipes |
